Hello friends past and present —
Ten years ago this December, old bandmates Joey and Eric started a new band with Andy, then a junior in high school. TEN years, EIGHT(ish) records (if you count singles and EPs), and SIX bassists later we have defied every non-existent expectation we ever had by still being in a band together (and loving it). It is our honor to invite you to celebrate/evaluate/inebriate with us for a December residency at The Satellite.
…for cheap or for free!
12/3, 12/10, 12/17 will all be FREE NIGHTS. The final night, 12/31 aka NEW YEAR’S EVE, will be…well…cheap ($10).
To make the month more special we will be recording a LIVE ALBUM over the course of all the shows. While we love recording in the studio, the live show has always been at the core of the HCP because our friends and fans simply make us play better. So consider this A PEOPLE’S RECORD! Blur the edges of the stage! Take advantage of cheap drinks and friendly pours! Everyone is a Henry Clay Person! We want your cheers, singalongs, and heckling to permeate the live recording process. We want to smell you on the album!
The proceeds from the live album will go to the SONGS FOR KIDS FOUNDATION
, an organization near and dear to our hearts. Several past and present members of our band and countless other local and national acts have been involved with Songs For Kids over the last several years.
A little about the SFK Foundations in their own words: ”Songs For Kids Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2007 with the mission to enrich the lives of children suffering from illness or hardship. We work year-round to bring music to children’s hospitals and special needs camps through live interactive concerts, hospital bedside performances and our Songs For Kids Records songwriting & recording program.” Josh Rifkind, the founder, will also be on hand each night of the residency to discuss and promote the foundation (and hopefully to play a song or two with us). Josh is one of best dudes you will ever meet. We want to get the word out for a cause/organization that we believe in.
Stay tuned for more information regarding lineups. It is going to be a fun one!
Thanks for happy times
